12.0.0.1083 works well for me.

Edit: Also, 12.0.1.1018 which is the bundled 8.1 driver, works well. Anything above that... no luck.

WiDi connection not completed

I am having a problem with establishing a connection with my LG TV LM960V. I have all the software installed and Intel WiDi Update Tools shows that all the software is installed and my laptop should be ready for the connection. I open Intel WiDi and, push scan button – LG wireless display is shown. After pressing connect button a password will be asked. I insert password (8 digit) from TV screen. TV will show that the connecting is in progress and the same is shown in laptop. After about 15 seconds the “connection in progress” will disappear from TV screen but Intel WiDi will show “Connecting…” and it the connection will not be established. The status will remain "Connecting...". I have tried disabling firewall.

My system and driver versions:

Intel® HD Graphics 4000 (v. 10.18.10.3345)

Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235 (v. 16.7.0.0)

Intel® Wireless Display Software (v. 4.2.24.0)

Best wishes,

Erki

Re: Twitter.h on Intel Galileo

Hi Alex_T and JEspinoza. Thank you both for your reply.

I did confirm that the URL spits out an error. I learned the hard way that Twitter's new version of their API requires a lot of work with respect to authentication before being able to retrieve tweets. My workaround was to have a php script on a webserver that does all theauthentication and retrieves the tweets I'm interested in. I then use Galileo to access this info via a GET request to said script. Although I did modify the script, it is by no means my own work. I found a video on youtube that pointed me to someone else's work and it worked like a charm. My next step is to grab two tweets and store them in separate strings. Hitting some roadblocks there. Other than that, it's working pretty well.

Thanks again,

B

Core I5 4670K running way too hot?

So, i just bought and installed the 4670k on my machine and i noticed extremely high temperatures while playing games (highest on was 87°C during battlefield 4).Some people say those temperatures are normal, but i cant really believe that, it seems way too high for a cpu to run. Also i think if i kept playing the temps would go above 87°C. I'm using stock clock and a corsair h60 for cooling.

When you uninstall the drivers, make sure you keep selecting "delete the driver software" checked until you get the unknown device (Network Adapter) shown in the device manager. Then update the drivers again. If this solution doesn't get rid of the "2" in the "WiFi 2," you have to do a registry delete the name "WiFi" and then renaming "WiFi 2" to "WiFi" in the network connections page. I honestly don't know if this method works for Windows 8.1 but this is how I solve the "wireless network connection" duplicates in Windows 7.

As for the "Hyrule 2," in Windows 7, there's the screenshot below where you can delete network locations aside from network profiles. You'll see your duplicates there. All you have to do is merge the duplicate network to the original network and that should fix it.

Re: Sporadic but recurring connection dropouts on an Intel 6235 wireless adapter

Just bought me a new Router to both improve my overall networking performance since i have lots of devices and use the wifi heavily and to see if this damn card will perform any better. So i got me the asus rt-ac68u which is suppose to be one of the best routers around. Sadly problem remains, the intel 6205 card (same with 6235) disconnects just the same, the sad thing is if i try to disable/enable windows7 sort of hangs badly and i need to hard reset my NUC. This is just lame how bad Intel is handling this whole issue, i meas seriously 67 pages about this problem and many many threads and still no fix nor any sort of support, its like we are talking to a wall i feel.

I guess this is what happens when companies grow to big, they just dont care about a "few" people having problems as long as they make money......I'm still hoping someone from Intel will get in here and give us some hope about a fix in a near future .....

Re: Widi & Windows 8.1 problems

Wes - Thank you SO much for your reply to this. I used the info you provided to locate the Win 8 utility from Dell's site, located here: Dell Driver Site

Even though I am running Windows 8.1 this app appears to work for my setup. I posted earlier in the thread, but this is my basic setup as far as the components go:

Custom desktop with Intel Core i7-3770 and Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 adapter

Netgear P2TV3000 connected to my TV which is in the same room with line of sight to the AC antenna

Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 which has three Dell monitors connected (1x HDMI and 2x DVI) that sit on my desk

System board is an EOL Asrock Z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3 that runs Intel HD Graphics 4000

Everything is running current firmware, though when I installed the Dell utility it appears to have down-revved the driver as it wants to update to something more current, which I am not inclined to do at this point!

Even with three monitors connected to the discrete graphics card, the app finds and connects to the P2TV3000, and does exactly what it should, show the TV as a 4th monitor which in screen resolution settings has it next to the last monitor in my setup. This means I can simply drag a window over to it like moving from one monitor to another on my desk! While connected the audio from my PC also re-directs to the TV meaning I can feed to my surround system as well.

Finally, I can get my money's worth out of this latest upgrade. My advice to Intel and Mr. Joe - PLEASE go back to the drawing board with the latest software drivers and optimize this utility to work with 8.1 properly as this legacy software appears to be doing, or make this utility widely available on your site to people like us that are trying to make use of your hardware and all but giving up in frustration!

Thanks guys, good luck!

Dear Intel Community,

Thanks for the information.
Reset the BIOS to default, and then update it to the latest version, the noise level reduce when the server running, only some fans running, not like before all the fans running, which is great !
Now want to install VMware ESXI 5.0 and configure to RAID 1 (only have two SAS drives), however refer to "Technical Product Specification (PDF)", access to BIOS, under Advanced -> Mass Storage Controller Configuration, there is no configuration "Configure Intel Entry SAS RAID Module" with options of "IT/IR RAID/Intel ESRTII". But the configurations "Intel SAS RAID Module", "Onboard SATA Controller" and "SATA Mode" are available.

The comments for configuration "Configure Intel Entry SAS RAID Module" states "Unavailable if the SAS Module (AXX4SASMOD) is disabled or not present", how to identify whether or not the SAS Module (AXX4SASMOD) is disabled?

If there is no configuration "Configure Intel Entry SAS RAID Module" in the BIOS, can still test VMWare ESXi 5.0 under ESRT2 RAID or IT/IR RAID?

Please advice.

Thanks kindly,

I think best thing to do is just to put centrino 2230 into the bin and spend couple of  bucks for decent Atheroes chip card as i did. Fantastic signal range and no problems at all. I spend too much time looking for solution of this problem which still is not solved.

VMware is not supported with onboard RAID. You can install VMware on SATA ports in AHCI mode, but if you need RAID you may need an add-on hardware RAID card.

Hi Sylvia,

Thanks for your reply but the info on the link are not relative to my situation, and lenovo sent me to intel as they told me on the following ticket I have on their site that the motherboard is an intel board so for that reason any technical details on the on board component need to be asked to intel. now I have tried google and searching the intel web site for the board detail I have and what they gave me but I found nothing really.

I bought Asus N550JV notebook which supports only Windows 8, but I prefer Windows 7, so I'm looking for all the drivers I need. Here is the notebook configuration:

Notebooks & Ultrabooks - N550JV

Chipset is Intel HM86. I know about these (do I need any more Intel drivers?):

- chipset driver

- intel graphic driver (not sure if I need this one since nvidia is main GPU?)

- Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver

I don't know how to find those drivers... I have been in intel download centar but couldn't find.
